Mark Twain Lake State Park in Association with the US Army Corps of
Engineers is proud to present MOGA 2009. The event will be held at Mark Twain State Park on March 27 - 29, 2009. The St. Louis Area Geocachers Association and the MOGA Staff will provide an event for
all geocachers. We will place over 100 permanent caches for this event. They will range anywhere from
4/4 to 1/1. All courses will be defined on maps so you can choose
your course.
Courses will be as follows:
Individual Competition - For those who want to compete
individually we will have 30 caches available with a terrain of 2
to a terrain of 3.5.
Team Competition - For those who want to compete in the 2
person or 4 person team event, we will have 30 caches available
with a terrain of 2 to a terrain of 3.5.
Early Bird Non Competitors - We will have 20 caches that
will be released prior to the event, hopefully by Wednesday, March
25th, that will allow anyone at anytime to start caching while the
competitions take place.
Early Bird Park and Grabs - This year we will have 20 park
and grab caches where the terrain might be 1 to 1.5 but the
difficulty will be 3 - 5. These should be released on Wednesday as
well.
Also this year, you will be allowed to hunt the competition caches
anytime you want. We will release the coordinates on Friday Night
for everyone. We will also download the coords and provide the GPX
files (through GSAK) on Saturday Morning during breakfast. The
competitors will not be hunting the caches directly this year.
Instead, they will find the associated punch for that cache. See
the event manual for full details.
Please watch this page and the event page to get all the details. We have a lot of planning taking place and will update both places regularly.
Camping, Lodging and Food Service is still under negotiation. More
on that later!
